Lake Havasu is beautiful, but there is not much local culture. Standard diner fare for breakfast.
Today, I set my sights on Las Vegas. After a quick run back to Parker (that road was a nice treat), I headed north towards Nevada. Along the way, I pivoted and decided to go to Hoover Dam.
It was another rainy day, with off and on showers.

The scenery is more mountainous today with more shrubs in the dessert. Lots of open roads and great vistas.
The approach to Hoover Dam provides a wonderful vista of Lake Mead. It was so shocking to suddenly see a huge blue lake, that I nearly rode out of the lane. Hoover dam itself is a modern wonder. The newer bridge for the Interstate is its own marvel, as well.

After the dam, I headed to Vegas for the night. After checking in, I rode up and down the strip because that’s what you’re supposed to do in Vegas. Not sure what the draw is. I seem to be immune to the temptations of this town.

Back at the hotel, I took some time to put my bag back in order. I’ve decided that tomorrow will be Death Valley, then back to the LA area.
