With the cam followers in bad shape, I decided to pull the camshaft to inspect it. I was hoping to keep the cam and crank shafts in place for this, but no dice.
I measured the cam lobes and they are all in spec, but barely. I don’t anticipate putting hundreds of thousands of miles on this when done, so I am going to run the original cam.
I used the Cycle Works engine tools to keep the crank in place while working on the cam.

I tend to drop in from time to time and spend a few minutes working on cleaning. It’s looking nice now.

Speaking of cleaning, I am beginning to work on the gearbox. It’s quite a bit dirtier than the rest of the running gear.
