The teardown continues.

I am well into the teardown. This process is blend of removing, cleaning and inspecting parts. I will reuse everything that is in good order when I put it all back together.

The bike is essentially taken down to its major components. Removing the fairing was a bit fiddly, but the rest of the bike has been very straightforward.

I’ll be sending the frame and subframe off for blasting and powder coating.

And several aluminum bits will also be painted or powder coated.

The motor teardown is coming along.

I have run into a few bits that need replacing. First, the oil pump is too worn to continue.

The oil pump was not a surprise, really. What was worse than I expected are the cam followers. I did not expect them to be in excellent condition, especially considering the scoring on the oil pump. I did not expect them to be quite this bad though.

Adding a few hundred dollars to the project for this.
