As much as I did not want to part ways with Goldie, I just could not pass up this outstanding new and modern option. When I purchased Goldie, it was a tough decision to choose between the raw, retro vibe and a modern equivalent. At the time, I was really stuck between the RnineT and the R1250R. In the end, I was definitely looking for something that would stand out a bit more, so the RnineT was the choice.
I still regularly looked at the more modern options and would occasionally take one out for a ride. Over time, I realized I would enjoy the modern experience a bit more for my usual commute. Riding the R1250R and the R1250RS, it was an easy choice to get the RS.

This is an amazing machine and a real treat to ride. I don’t have any big plans for it specifically. I am going to put the side bags on, and ma also get a crash bar. I am not a pure sports bike guy, so I have no issue with some protection for the motor. Other than that, this is more of a commuting and recreational touring option for the garage. I expect it will show up more under Journeys than projects over time.

My garage is getting a bit full. Red is still in pieces in the basement, and will need to find a space in there someday.
