Alright. Mechanically, the last big thing to do is install the cylinders and heads. The cylinders, pistons and related bits are from the Siebenrock Powerkit 1000. There are plenty of folks showing installs of this out there and mine was not different. Everything went smoothly and my only regret is not test fitting them to the block in advance. This would have let me do a better job of keeping the sealant only where it needed to be. Also, the new cylinders have a slightly different casting and are shaped different from the originals. It created a bit of added cleanup once I was done.

The heads were rebuilt by Bombar’s Beemers last year and have been waiting patiently to be installed.
This point of the project is quite rewarding. Most of the fiddly tasks are already done and these parts mostly just bolt into place. I did have to take the rockers back off on the left because I had one of the bits on backwards. And yes, there is a process to getting them torqued one properly, but after that, it’s just setting the valve clearances.
Once it was all together, I filled the engine, gearbox, swing arm, and final drive oils. I also could not resist getting a sense of it all with the tank sat into place.
