I’ve been looking forward to this part for a good while. Bing carbs are pretty famous and this style can be found on many motors, including aircraft. They are reliable and simple. Mine have signs of some leaks and I am hoping they don’t hold any surprises. I bought full rebuild kits from Euro Motor Electrics and have everything I should need.

A lot of fiddly parts for a BMW. Nothing too complicated, but more than pretty much anywhere else on the bike. I took them apart one at a time and put everything through the ultrasonic cleaner. New gaskets, o-rings, floats, diaphragms, butterflies, and springs.

One down. One to go.

Done (except one of these still has the old springs for now). This was a good bit easier than I expected. They had been rebuilt before, so I did not need to file the screws on the butterflies. The ultrasonic cleaner did a great job on these and I opted to hold off on vapor honing them for now. Perhaps in the future.
